John Phillips was born in 1809 in Wiston, Pembrokeshire, South Wales, and christened at the same place in 1810. He married Sophia Thomas October 4th, 1834 in Lampeter Velfrey, Pembrokeshire. John died March 1st, 1855 in Furnace, Llennelly, Carmarthenshire, South Wales, and was buried in the same place two days later. Sophia was born December 17, 1807 and died June 26th 1895 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was buried in the Salt Lake city Cemetery June 29th.
